Applied Grant Writing and Funding Readiness for Organizations

This practical, step-by-step course is designed to help participants feel more confident finding and applying for grants.

Participants will learn how funding works in Canada, where to find grants, how to understand grant guidelines, and how to prepare stronger applications. The course will also cover budgets, workplans, supporting documents, and common mistakes to avoid.

The training focuses on real-life learning, not just theory. Participants will work through actual funding opportunities and apply what they learn throughout the course. The goal is to help participants feel more organized, less overwhelmed, and more prepared to apply for funding opportunities that support their communities and programs.

Participants will also learn practical and responsible ways to use AI tools to help support the grant writing process.

Meet our Instructor

  • Amanda Rogers

    Amanda Rogers is the Founder and CEO of iPlume Writing Inc., a Canadian writing and training company that helps nonprofit organizations and communities strengthen their funding capacity through practical, step-by-step support.

    Amanda has spent nearly 20 years working in nonprofit leadership, including roles focused on Indigenous health, community programming, women’s empowerment, food security, and education. Throughout her career, grant funding has played a key role in helping organizations build programs, support communities, and create lasting impact.

    Since founding iPlume Writing in 2017, Amanda has helped organizations across Canada secure over $50M in funding through government, foundation, and community grants. She now focuses much of her work on teaching others how to confidently find, prepare for, and apply for grants themselves.

    Amanda is known for making the grant writing process feel less overwhelming and more approachable. Her teaching style focuses on plain language, practical learning, real-world application, and creating supportive learning environments where participants feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence at their own pace.

    Through iPlume Learning, Amanda delivers grant writing and funding readiness training for nonprofit organizations, charities, and community groups across Canada, with a focus on building long-term internal capacity and sustainable funding practices.
