French Proficiency Language Certificate

This comprehensive French language program is designed for learners seeking to develop proficiency in French for personal, academic, or professional purposes. Covering six levels of progression, from Basic to Advanced, the program offers a balance between building foundational skills and developing advanced communicative competence. Through interactive classes, cultural immersion, and practical language usage, learners will grow in their ability to understand, speak, read, and write in French.

    216 hours.

  • Schedule

    Each level consists of 6 weeks of instruction with 6 hours of class time per week, supplemented by cultural immersion sessions and self-study.

  • Delivery Method

    The program will be delivered through a combination of in-person and online courses.

  • Prerequisites

    Placement test.

  • Fees

    $975 per participant for a 36-hour course. The program fee includes registration, tuition, course materials.

    This introductory course covers essential phrases, greetings, and basic vocabulary. Learners will begin to recognize common expressions and develop basic conversation skills for everyday scenarios.
    Learning objectives include: Understand simple phrases and greetings, pronounce basic French sounds correctly, engage in simple exchanges using key vocabulary.

    Expanding on the basics, this course focuses on building vocabulary and introducing basic grammatical structures. Emphasis is placed on everyday communication, including shopping, dining, and travel conversations. Learning objectives include: Form simple sentences using present-tense verbs, understand and respond to basic questions in French, expand vocabulary for daily life scenarios.

    At this level, learners focus on expanding their ability to speak, read, and write in French. The course covers more complex sentence structures, verb conjugations, and dialogues, along with listening to short, authentic audio clips. Learning objectives include: Use a wider range of vocabulary and sentence structures. Improve listening skills through short dialogues and audio recordings. write simple paragraphs and hold basic conversations.

    This course advances learners’ understanding of French grammar, including past and future tenses. Learners will work on longer conversations and more sophisticated writing tasks, while also exploring French culture through readings and discussions. Learning objectives include: Speak with greater fluency, using multiple tenses,  write short essays and engage in in-depth conversations, explore cultural topics through readings and media.

    Learners at this level will practice more complex grammar, idiomatic expressions, and nuanced conversation skills. The course includes reading authentic French texts, writing structured essays, and participating in debates. Learning Objectives include: Participate in conversations on social, cultural, and professional topics, write coherent, structured texts using advanced grammar, understand and use idiomatic expressions in conversation.

    The final level focuses on refining fluency and accuracy in professional, academic, and social contexts. Learners will engage in advanced discussions, analyze French literature and media, and work on mastering written and spoken French at a near-native level. Learning Objectives include: Achieve fluency in both formal and informal conversations,  write detailed and persuasive essays or reports, analyze and interpret complex French texts, films, and other media.
